OPEN HERALD

An open version of the Triumph Herald Mode its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. This version is priced at £766, as against the £702 of the saloon model and £731 of the coupes Mechanically, the Convertible; as it will be known, has the same specification as the coupe, i.e., twin-carburetter engine and 8.5 : 1 compression ratio, giving approximately 45 b.h.p. at 5,800 r.p.m. It also has similar instrumentation to the coupe.

The hood is made of Vynicle and is fastened to the top of the windscreen by two over-centre clips. It is claimed that the lowering operation can be carried out in under a minute and the task of erection can be carried out in half a minute without leavingthe car.
