LAUNCHING OF THE ‘SEA MONARCH.’

ANEW 37ft. 6in. “Power Sea Monarch,” built especially for day-cruising, was launched at the ” Power” Yard, Hythe, Southampton, during last month. The” Sea Monarch” is the largest and most luxurious boat of the standard ” Power ” range. It is fitted with two 100 h.p. ” Power ” engines, fitted right aft, and driving two screws through a “V ” drive, giving the boat a cruising speed of

approximately 30 miles an hour.

The steering and driving gear is situated in the forward cabin and arrangements have been made to enable the driver to operate either standing or seated. There are, in addition, three other seats provided in the driving cabin.

Amidship is a large luxuriously appointed saloon, while aft of this is a fully fitted lavatory and a galley equipped with a cooking stove and wash basin.

A large open cockpit is provided just forward of the engine.

The ” Sea Monarch” is intended for serious sea journeys and the sea-worthiness of this type has been amply proved by the performance of the 37ft. 6in. R.A.F. cruisers, which are service versions of the “Sea Monarch.” One of these travelled for 500 miles from Hythe to Donibristle, Scotland, experiencing violent weather over most of the route.
