Obituary – Barrie Maskell

January 14, 2015

A front-running Formula 3 racer for many years, Barrie Maskell has died at the age of 75. The Yorkshireman competed in F3 from 1967 until the mid-1970s, but never had the means to take his career any further. An irrepressible character, he didn’t allow life-changing injuries to dilute his passion for the sport. Confined to a wheelchair after falling from a tree in 1993, he later returned to racing in a Porsche 911 with hand controls.
