This is the official story of Damon Hill’s championship year. Written by the man himself, aided by the Daily Telegraph’s Formula One correspondent Tim Collings, the book is a personal and revealing account of a difficult, yet successful final season with Williams.

The format is a little bland, with the chapters simply titled after each race, but this is still a good book. Jon Nichol’s superb collection of photographs complement the text, giving a great insight into the life of a driver under pressure, working for the best team in the business. It all comes together to make this the perfect Christmas gift for any Damon fan. DS

Damien Smith

Damien spent two spells as editor of Motor Sport – at nine issues, his first was short. The second was longer, rejoining in 2007 until 2016. Between he spent two years as editor-in-chief of Autosport, a magazine he first joined in 1996. During his time on the weekly, Damien covered everything from club racing to Formula 1, via Formula 3000 and sports car racing.
