Snetterton's 50th birthday celebration planned

Two of Britain’s leading race-organising clubs for period cars, the Historic Sports Car Club and the Aston Martin Owners’ Club, are working together to organise a two-day race meeting this summer to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Snetterton circuit.

The East Anglia track opened in 1951 as a 2.7-mile course on the former US Air Force base, and included the long Norwich Straight running parallel to the All. Subsequently it has since been shortened, but remains one of Britain’s busiest tracks with little in the way of limitation on usage due to its remote location. A range of period races are planned including a recreation of the Autosport 3 Hours, a traditional Snetterton sportscar race in the late 1950s-60s.
