Liverpool has claimed the 2009 Superleague Formula title after its driver Adrian Valles finished both the final two races of the season in the points. The one-time GP2 driver arrived at the final weekend at Jarama with a 49-point cushion to Tottenham’s Craig Dolby, and after scoring a seventh and fourth place ended the season 30 points clear.

“It’s fantastic to have won the championship,” commented Valles after the races. “Liverpool have won a lot of trophies in their history so it is nice to have added another one to that list.”
