Porsche’s last hour victory in the Le Mans 24-hours brings its total wins to date in the race to 16 while no other marque has made it into double figures. With little more than an hour to go a repeat of the 1969 grandstand finis was promised with Boutsen’s Toyota being hunted down by the Porsche of Allan McNish. But when the Toyota broke its gearbox, Porsche was handed a one-two victory. The prototype class was claimed by the evergreen Ferrari 333SP of Giampiero Moretti. AF
