Star line-up for Surgers Supercar race

July 7, 2014

A raft of international stars will join the Australian V8 Supercar grid at Surfers Paradise in October. Dario Franchitti, Jacques Villeneuve, David Brabham, Scott Dixon and Heinz-Harald Frentzen are just a few of the big names signed up as ‘compulsory international drivers’ for the Surfers round, which will be run as a pair of two-driver, 300km mini-enduros for this season.

The new international slant on the V8 Supercar round follows the end of the Indycar fixture that started life as a Champ Car race. Surfers had been due to host the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport until the demise of that series.
