What is Mr. N. E. Hawkes of West Ella talking about?

“Boulevard peripherique”—he sureIy doesn’t mean the Paris “South Circular”? Compared with London’s cart track (South Circular) the Paris one is a road as roads should be made. I cross Paris several times a year and seldom have to reduce speed below 50 m.p.h.! Mr. Hawkes had better find the right road, even in the “rush hour”; barring accidents. I have seldom been held up.

I try always to drive British, preach British and wish a few more would back our country, but on the subject of roads by what I have seen the last few years it is we who are the load of peasants!
