Return Of The Badge
I was interested to read in the January 1980 issue that Rudge is to re-appear on a new motor cycle.
I owned one of the 500 c.c. touring models in, I think, the late 1920’s when thc sales slogan was “4 valves, 4 speeds”.
I covered thousands of miles on this machine, both solo and with a sidecar attached. The only real trouble was caused by the push rods being made of such hard steel that they periodically pushed through the rockers. Result —00 motor and a tow home.
I eventually traded it in for a 1926 Austin 7 touring model. I wish I had this now! Newark R. HOMER
