Group B demo for Silverstone Classic

July 7, 2014

Rally cars will once again feature in the Silverstone Classic after an absence of nearly a decade when a live stage is created at the Becketts end of the National Straight.

The demonstration runs will feature Group B cars of the 1980s from the Slowly Sideways movement which will be in action on both the Saturday and Sunday of the July 25-27 event. The line-up for the Silverstone demo stage is not yet confirmed, but a typical entry will include Audi Quattros, Lancia 037s, Ford RS200s, Peugeot 205T16s and Metro 6R4s, most in period livery. Group B was outlawed in 1986 after several major accidents.
