Deathrace 2000

July 7, 2014

Braveworld Video, £10.99.

Not even the most cynical producer of accident videos could come up with a title quite this violent.

In fact, this was a cult film about 20 years ago, even though the acting is almost as frightful as the plot, which involves an improbable car chase-cum-race in which almost everyone bar star name David Carradine eventually perishes in a series of accidents of varying severity.

It’s quite funny to think that I wasn’t old enough to get into the cinema to watch this when it was first released. I was quite cross about it at the time, but it appears the censors did me a favour. SA
