Where on earth do they exhume all of these? Lindsay Porter’s organisation has put together two more films originally shown at BRSCC club nights, in this instance for the 1957 and 1958 seasons.

Beneath the banal, and on occasions appallingly sexist, commentary there are many items of historical interest. The highlight, without doubt, is extensive coverage of a battle between Ian Smith’s AC and the Porsche 356 of a youthful Jim Clark at Full Sutton (which was a bit like Rufforth, but without the facilities …) on a rainy afternoon in 1958.

That sequence alone justifies the purchase. SA
