Race return for GpC Lancia

July 7, 2014

The Lancia LC2 that claimed the Italian marque’s most significant Group C victory at the 1985 Spa 1000Kms will return to racing next year. Lancia LC2, chassis number three, is on course to compete in the Group C/GTP Racing series in the hands of Duncan McKay.

McKay said: “Because I jumped straight into motor racing in Group C, I thought it best to stick to a C2 for a while, but now I feel the time is right to move up to the Lancia.”

McKay’s Lancia was part of the Martini-backed factory squad from 1983 to ’85 and won at Spa in the hands of Mauro Baldi, Bob Wollek and Riccardo Patrese.

Paul Lawrence

Here is a man who goes racing every weekend from March to October. Paul’s passion for the sport goes back to when he was a child of the 1960s. He has organised, competed in and marshalled on scores of events, and has written about the subject for 20 years. He is as at home in the paddock at Brands Hatch as in a Welsh forest or at Shelsley Walsh.
