VSCC speed trial at Brooklands

July 7, 2014

More than 100 cars from the VSCC will take part in the Brooklands Speed Trials on Saturday June 5, competing on the Mercedes-Benz World Handling Circuit adjacent to the Brooklands Museum site.

The sprint will run as part of the weekend’s Brooklands Double Twelve motoring festival, which includes a driving test and concours competition. Demonstrations of Mercedes-Benz cars from the company museum in Stuttgart will also feature.

The VSCC last held a sprint on the Mercedes-Benz World Track in 2007 as part of the Brooklands Centenary Celebrations. The sprint will include 16 classes for pre-war sports cars and single-seaters.

Here is a man who goes racing every weekend from March to October. Paul’s passion for the sport goes back to when he was a child of the 1960s. He has organised, competed in and marshalled on scores of events, and has written about the subject for 20 years. He is as at home in the paddock at Brands Hatch as in a Welsh forest or at Shelsley Walsh.
