Historic French GP moves from Magny Cours to Paul Ricard in 2021

Organisers of the French Historic Grand Prix have announced plans for 70 Formula 1 cars to take part in next year’s three-day summer festival.
A total of 300 historic racing cars are anticipated to take part in the 21 races at Paul Ricard across the weekend of June 11-13, a fortnight before the French Grand Prix.
It will be held two months after the Historic Monaco Grand Prix, and ahead of the Le Mans Classic in July, as historic racing organisers look to return in force next year.
Goodwood has already announced plans to hold next year’s Revival in its usual September slot, and the Donington Historic Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary in May.

Historic racing was hit hard by the Covid pandemic, with most major events cancelled this year amid restrictions on spectators and the difficulties of bringing all of the cars together at the same time.
The French Historic Grand Prix says that it plans to welcome drivers from 20 different countries.
Three F1 grids will include several examples of the Maserati 250F in the ’50s and ’60s category, while a 1970-1985 race will incorporate the turbo era. Modern cars will be competing in a round of the Maxx Formula series
Several sports car and junior single-seater races make up the rest of the programme.
