Expect to see championship-winning drivers racing as hard as they dare in gleaming cars, watched by crowds that flamboyantly adhere to the dress code. It’ll all likely be sprinkled with some dashes of autumn rain, which never fails to add to the spectacle on track.
Jenson Button is one of two Formula 1 champions in action over the weekend. He’s racing in today’s 1960s GT spectacle, the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration against Jacques Villeneuve who will be making his Revival racing debut. They are joined by a throng of top-level drivers including Tony Kanaan, Scott Dixon, Jimmie Johnson, Tom Kristensen and Dario Franchitti.
As with every morning of this year’s Revival, a parade of Volkswagen Type 2 Split Screen Campervans will open the on-track proceedings, before a packed day with eight races and additional parades.
The schedule is packed with crowd-pleasers, including the TT Trophy; 1950s F1 cars in the Richmond & Gordon Trophies; as well as the final stage of the St Mary’s Trophy, which this year features saloon cars from the 1950s. There’s also the Settrington Cup for junior racers in J40 pedal cars.
