Raleigh Speedway was the second superspeedway to be built in America after Darlington and the first facility to hold a floodlit NASCAR night race.

Raleigh Speedway was the second superspeedway to be built in America after Darlington and the first facility to hold a floodlit NASCAR night race. A “paper clip” shaped facility with 16-degree banked curves, it closed in 1958 due to complaints of noise pollution and was demolished in 1967.
