The Bowman Gray Stadium is an active quarter-mile paved oval in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, that is also home of the local University American Football team. Built before World War II, it first held a NASCAR Grand National race in 1958 and was scene of Richard Petty’s 100th such victory in 1969. Stock car racing’s top division has not visited since 1971.
